top 5 heart-winning pinoy band

 HALE

Music touches one's soul...
where rhythm of life and beauty is being expressed...
No wonder why a band like HALE has captured the hearts of many especially of the youth. Because much are written from experiences, their songs (alternative rock) are of sincerest that bring romance to a melancholic atmosphere. "The Day you Said Goodnight" was their first single for their first and self-titled album. It was hailed as the “Song of the Year" on 97.1 WLS-FM. Their latest and fifth single BLUE SKY  is now hitting the charts in radios. I guess this will bring about another inspiration to those who are aspiring for making their own bands.

Behind the triumph are the names from southern part of metro(Las Piñas, Alabang and Parañaque) Champ Lui-Pio’s (lead vocals and guitars), Roll Martinez (guitars and vocals), Sheldon Gellada (bass expert), and Omnie Saroca (drummer). Their ultimate goal is to make the crowd feel the essence of creating a band.

SPONGECOLA

A  Filipino Rock Band formed in 2002, Sponge Cola (often spelled Spongecola). The current members are Yael Yuzon (known to its shifting of voice from mellow to screamo), Gosh Dilay and Erwin Armovit. Unofficial members include Wendell Garcia of bands Archipelago and Pupil, and Tedmark Cruz who plays drums for bands Happy Meals and The Out of Body Special fill in as sessionist. Lunes, A Tear, Saturn, Cigarette and Jeepney are five of their original songs.
This band ranks second among my favorites since their members are cool and talented. What keeps them unique is their using of alternative elements such as samisen (a Japanese guitar), striking of amplifiers, cellphone ring tones and even the rain that are usually ignored in rock bands.

CUESHé

Who might forget the hit singles ("Stay", "Sorry", "Ulan", and "Can’t Let You Go") and a double-platinum album ("Half Empty, Half Full")? It might even be amazing to know the accolades (Favorite Artist, Favorite Rock Group and Favorite Song for the song "Sorry" at the 1st MYX Music Awards! How much more the following awards: TM Texters’ Choice Hit maker of the Year at the 2006 MTV Pilipinas Awards; Band of the Year at 2006 SOP PasiklaBand Awards; Best Rock Artist at 2005 SOP Music Awards), Perfect Music of the Decade Award, and sold-out gigs and concerts—all achieved in a span of one year!
However, before getting those achievements, they went through struggles like any upstart band. But see how they worked out for it!

No doubt! It's Cueshé,  a 6-piece OPM Rock band that sprung from Cebu, Philippines and is now currently based in Manila.Their songs catch every listener's interest that made them being remembered.

PAROKYA NI EDGAR

The Parokya ni Edgar (Parish of Edgar) is a Filipino band of Ateneo de Manila High School students. Their versatility in music from alternative to pop paved them to popularity.
Comic Relief as what they call themselves is a group of the three vocalists- Alfonso "Chito" Miranda, Jr. (thinnest member but the frontman in the band), Francis Vincent "Vinci" Montaner , and Gabriel Ignatius "Gab" Chee Kee (a respected English teacher at the Ateneo de Manila High School), the guitarist Darius Gerard "Dar" Semaña,  and  the bassist Buhawi "Buwi" Meneses (son of the late Rosa Meneses) and the drum expert Ferdinand "Din Din" Moreno.

They have won the 1st Philippine Radio Music Awards  as Best Alternative Group (2009). Aside from this were numerous awards and nominations being garnered. They do not only play glamor in music industry but also in commercial endorsements and TV guestings. Some of their singles that gather heads together were the "Picha Pie, "Mr. Suave", and "One and Only You" - also known as "Your Song".

KAMIKAZEE

the band that rocks on stage, gyrates shamelessly, growls to their hearts content, stagedives into mosh pits...

Kamikazee is a Filipino rock band composed of
  • Jay Contreras - Lead vocals
  • Jose Ma. Luis "Jomal" Linao - Guitarist/backing vocals
  • Led Tuyay - Guitar

Their styles flexes from laughing out loud to heartrending music genre. Each word expresses rare creativity and one of a kind wit that made them rise to fame that fast.
